With the PROFIline FBL flatbed laser, a concentrated light beam acts as a "cutting knife". The beam is guided over the material to be cut/punched via a mirror system. Since only very small masses have to be moved, this movement can be carried out very quickly and precisely. By varying the beam intensity, the adaptation to the material and the penetration depth takes place (e.g. kiss cut).
Due to the extremely short processing time, there is no thermal stress on the material in the cutting area. Since the process is contactless, all other known problems of mechanical die cutting using punching knives are also eliminated.
